You can make coffee with a simple coffee press. All ground coffee needs to be brewed whether in a press or coffee maker. Instant is the only type that doesn't require a gadget or appliance. |

Well if it comes from a can it probably has to have a coffee maker but near the cans there should be boxes which have small portions of coffee in tea bags with those you just need to heat water and dunk the bags into cups |

Coffee is labeled "instant " if you make it by mixing powder with hot water, "ground " if you make it with a coffee machine, or "whole bean " if it comes as whole coffee beans you grind yourself. Usually, in the United States, coffee sold in a (see-through) jar is instant, coffee sold in a (opaque) can or brick is ground, and coffee sold out of a dispenser is whole bean. Coffee sold in a paper bag could be ground or whole bean. Read the label if you're not sure. Incidentally, it really is easy to make coffee without a coffee maker. Once my coffee maker was broken so I made coffee by boiling water in a pot, tossing in the coffee, and pouring it out carefully so I didn't get too many coffee grounds in my cup. |
