Flying with a coffee maker?

Question: Flying with a coffee maker?

(Posted by: Audrey on 2010-03-08 08:47:16)

I'm moving from Los Angeles to Nebraska via Midwest airlines, and I want to take my coffee pot with me. Can I take it in my luggage? (not carry- on) Will it break? I'm worried the glass pot could break. Is there a way to pack it to ensure it will be okay?

I would carry on the glass pot and pack the coffee maker (assuming you are talking about a drip machine). The luggage handlers will surely break something as fragile as a coffee caraffe. If you have a hard suitcase you could pack it in bubble wrap and it will probably not break but a soft case will get crushed.
