Drink it it'll be more than fine. It just probably wont taste as strong. Best by/ Best Before dates don't mean anything. It's the Use By dates you need to follow. All best before dates mean is that this product is going to taste at it's best before that date, the use by dates are used on products that have a limited shelf life such as bread, eggs, milk, etc. Coffee can stay just as fresh for many months after it's shelf life. I used to work for a famous supermarket in the UK (until it was taken over by Morrisons) and the staff were regularly sold out of date products and the manufacturer used to tell us that they were fine for at least 6-12 months out of that date. Also regularly in bargain shops in the UK you get out of date products being sold at bargain prices, usually the shop keeper warns the person and when you buy it, it usually just tastes a bit milder if that. Sometimes chocolate develops a white coating on it which is just the fat separating from the water as the emulsifiers break down. |
