Hawaiian kona coffee?

Question: Hawaiian kona coffee?

(Posted by: Praise on 2010-02-08 14:22:08)

Is there anyone else out there who will ONLY drink Hawaiian Kona Coffee? I don't drink it everyday, but when I do, this is the ONLY one I touch- especially the Original. I was just wondering if I was the only one like that. The other coffees taste like hot water to me and I have to have mine strong.

Coffee at any price. I have a coffee grinder and grind only one days coffee at a time.... I like it strong too.. and no matter how strong I make it, it is never bitter. I LOVE coffee!!

I don't know what you're drinking, or how it's being made, but island grown coffees are milder than most. I love Kona (as well as Jamaican Blue Mountain) but I drink it more as a desert. Guatemalan and Ethiopian have more of an intense flavor. I drink a wide variety of coffees because I love the variety. Bad coffee can come from anywhere; often it's good coffee that's been badly roasted, stored, or brewed.

Good stuff indeed. I love it and have some on the way as I write. We first discovered in Hawaii and I really don't think my infatuation with the place has a large role in my appreciation for the bean. There is good coffee from many locations in SA and Africa but, Kona is special; the nuts from the north part of the "Big Island " are also the best on the planet.

You are not alone when it comes to Kona Coffee. In the last five years there was not any Kona available here, but now the Kona is blended with other grinds. I love the taste because of its boldness and not bitter. I think the Hawaiian are not shipping the coffee. I drink coffee that's like mud. I drank lots of Kona when I went to Hawaii and nothing we have comes near. I live in California and maybe we are not shipped as much.
