Mocha is a coffee flavored with milk, sugar, and cocoa A latte is a strong espresso with foamed milk on the top. Starbucks is nasty coffee, it is filled with toxins and additives, and their coffee tastes burnt. Try a local coffee shop instead. I love vanilla bean lattes, though they contain little to no coffee at most places. |

Mocha means it is chocolate. Latte is coffee with steamed milk and a small amount of foam. Cappuccino is coffee with less steamed milk and lots of foam. |

Welcome to the confusing world of Espresso based coffee drinks. The basic coffee in these drinks is of course espresso, which is a very rich, syrupy, coffee made in small amounts by a special machine that forces hot water through fine coffee grinds at a high (up to 14 bar) pressure. In Italy you can buy espresso straight up and drink it from your little espresso cups and saucer. Americans tend to drink it watered down in one way or another. An Americano is just a shot of espresso watered down in hot water. So the main two drinks you will be approached with are a Latte and a Cappuccino (Capp). Latte (Caffe Latte): A shot or shots of espresso in steamed milk. This may or may not be topped by a small bit of foamed milk. Cappuccino: A shot or shots of espresso in a mixture of steamed and foamed milk which is generally 1/ 3 foam. These two drinks are the basis for most of the coffee drinks on the market. Most are variations with either flavorings, ice, creamers, or other items added to the Latte or Capp. BTW: The 1/ 3 foam means you get 1/ 3 less drink and 1/ 3 more air. Mocha: Chocolate Machiatto: Marked. The foam is "marked " or stained by the coffee. Basically the same drink just someone in marketing thought the name sounded cooler ;-) p.s. Star$s has their own lingo for lot of items so basically you just need to go in and get your feet wet. Personally to me Star$s coffee is over roasted (and to a lot of people on the net.) but they do that to sell you sugar additions where they make a lot of money. Check out your local mom and pop espresso cafe and support local businesses, and get a better latte to boot. They will also help you through the definitions where the part time college student at Star$s will just look at you funny.. ;-) |

I'm a barista at Starbucks and your not alone. One of the first questions we ask is hot or cold? You can get any espresso drink hot or cold. The espresso drinks are all made the same way: your syrup and hot or cold milk (if you get it cold ice is also added) Feel free to go to your local Starbucks or coffee shop and ask them for help. At Starbucks we want the customer to be happy and we are all about the customer. Almost any barista well help you. I personally have never had a customer tell me they didn't like a drink that I've helped them pick. Don't feel stupid asking them, you aren't the first and won't be the last. :) My personal favorite is a white chocolate mocha with some raspberry. Its white chocolate, hot milk, espresso, with a little bit of raspberry. Yum! |

It is just another nasty version of coffee. Coffee is nasty! Even the smell is nauseating. Avoid Charbucks at all cost! Charbucks is just for ignorant people wasting money paying overinflated prices for over roasted crap! |
