I found a real cute mug from Walmart (made in China) but it doesn't say "microwave safe. " Has anyone else heard this theory cups from China without the "microwave safe " have LED in them? Is my aunt right? Urr, thanks, Betty. I first had "lead " and then that started looking wrong. Too late at night!

Thats "lead ", not "LED ". Not to be confused with the band "Led Zeppelin ". There have been a lot of Chinese products that contain lead. Toys with lead paint that were made in in China made the news recently. So, do the walmart mugs have lead in them? Maybe, maybe not. I guess the only way to find out is to take them to a lab and have them tested.

A light-emitting diode (LED) (pronounced / ˌɛl.iːˈdiː/ [1], or just / lɛd/ ), is an electronic light source. Not to be confused with Led Zepplin, but I would venture a guess that it does as most things that come from China are containing lead. Just because it doesn't say "micro safe " doesn't mean you can't get the lead from the hot coffee or tea that's poured into them over time.
